Scratch — Five Hundred and Twelve Cards, All Enumerated

Three cells drawn from eight symbols gives 512 possible cards, and every one of them is enumerated when this page’s game loads. Three of a kind pays by symbol, any pair returns half the stake, and the resulting return is exact to four decimal places.

The pair return is where the presentation rule bites

Roughly a third of cards contain a pair, and a pair returns half the stake. Under the market presentation mode most operators default to, that is a coin animation and a rising chime over a transaction where the player lost half their money. Under this platform’s default mode it appears as what it is: a net loss, no celebration.

The industry term is a loss disguised as a win, and no United States rule regulates it — not the sweepstakes statutes, not the iGaming technical standards, not the trade-body code. Great Britain wrote the only version of that rule anywhere, in 2021. This game exists partly to show what following it looks like when nothing requires you to.

This page argued against its own game

The previous version of this page sold a finite, depleting prize pool — a fixed print run, remaining prizes shown live, odds recomputed as the pool emptied. It then criticised the alternative in these terms: a digital instant-win typically draws each card independently against a probability table.

That alternative is exactly what shipped. The page was disparaging its own mechanism, which is a worse failure than being merely out of date, and it is logged as such.

What ships is defensible on different grounds. A finite pool is the structure a real scratch-card licence requires because real cards are printed objects and money is at stake. Here, nothing is printed and nothing is at stake, and 512 independently drawn cards have the property a print run does not: the entire prize structure can be walked in full, at load, in front of the reader.

The mathematics

Basis: exact. Computed at page load, not sampled — there is no error bar because there is no estimate.

Three cells, eight symbols, drawn independently: 512 possible cards, all of them
enumerated when the page loads. Three of a kind pays by symbol; any pair returns half the stake.

Outcome Cards Probability Pays Contributes
🐚 ×3 1 0.001953 1.5625%
🍇 ×3 1 0.001953 12× 2.3438%
🫒 ×3 1 0.001953 18× 3.5156%
🌶️ ×3 1 0.001953 25× 4.8828%
🏺 ×3 1 0.001953 35× 6.8359%
🗝️ ×3 1 0.001953 55× 10.7422%
💎 ×3 1 0.001953 90× 17.5781%
👑 ×3 1 0.001953 159× 31.0547%
Any pair 168 0.328125 0.5× 16.4063%
Return to player 94.9219%

The pair is the load-bearing row. It pays half a stake — the smallest payout on the card —
but it happens on 32.81% of cards, and it contributes
16.4063% of the return, more than any single three-of-a-kind except the crown.

That is the honest shape of an instant-win game: most of what comes back to the player
arrives as a partial refund, not a win. Eight symbols and one pair rule, summing to 94.9219%.

What the gate does before the game loads

Nine states have enacted statutory bans on the sweepstakes casino model, and six more closed their markets by enforcement without passing anything. Every one of those instruments turns on redeemable value. This platform has none, so it stays lawful in all fifty — but the geo-gate still names the statute, because a compliance claim that cannot be checked against a citation is a marketing claim.

Select New Jersey and the gate blocks the lobby citing A5447/S4282. Select Oklahoma and it plays, with an amber banner recording that SB 1589 takes effect on 1 November 2026. The distinction between an enacted ban and a ban in force is the sort of thing operators discover late; here it is in the interface, fed by the same weekly-verified database as the state tracker.

No money, at any point. Gold Coins are granted, never sold. They cannot be redeemed, cashed out, transferred between accounts, or exchanged for anything of value. There is no shop, no coin pack, and no purchase path on this platform — by design, and permanently. See the no-value statement.
